What we believe:

See below to read through our various positions on our Christian convictions to love as Jesus did. And our mission as a church to bring healing and restoration to the world as we are called to in partnership with the Holy Spirit’s work. This is a continuous work and we will be adding to and updating this page regularly.

As a church we believe: injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere, love is love, black lives matter, science is real, women's rights are human's rights, no human is illegal, all genders are whole, holy, and good, you are made in God's imag

What we believe about the Bible:

We believe the Bible points us toward liberation, and Jesus desires it to be good news for us, however we lament that it has too often been a tool of oppression. The Bible always has been and always will be an interpreted text. And as the flawed and limited humans that we are, we have been the only interpreters. We recognize the church’s history of not always getting it right. We value a holistic approach to understanding scripture through the life and teaching of Jesus. We seek to re-read scripture through the lens of the marginalized and oppressed.

The Apostle's Creed

We believe in God Almighty, creator of heaven and earth. We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, Our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of Mary of Nazareth. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day He rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Our Statement of Faith on Reparations

All Saints LA acknowledges our country has historically perpetuated systems of exploitation and oppression of Indigenous peoples and peoples of color for the purpose of maintaining and defending a system of wealth, power and privilege for the benefit of white peoples.

From the seizure of territory by our government together with the slaughter and displacement of indigenous tribes; to the centuries of African enslavement that made the growth of the United States possible, to the devastating legacies of redlining and eminent domain that has destroyed homes and livelihoods here in Los Angeles, America has preserved systems that reinforce this white supremacy in our many critical institutions: political, economic, social, cultural, legal, military, educational, all others.

As a Christ-centered and justice minded community striving toward inclusion and equity, we strive to work for reparations and reparative justice. This work starts with repentance—collectively and individually. It aligns with the prophets Isaiah and Zechariah’s admonitions: “Woe to those who make unjust laws, those who issue oppressive decrees, to deprive the poor of their rights and withhold justice from the oppressed of my people….”; “Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the foreigner or the poor. Do not plot evil against each other.” (Is.10:2; Zech.7:10)

This work includes supporting local initiatives seeking to remedy damage caused by the harmful legacies of our history and current policies and recent acts. This means advocating for new policies or measures in our communities that will bring affordable housing, more humane policing, more services for the unhoused and righting other institutional unfairness. All Saints therefore exhorts the church to repent, to explore and get involved in the work of reparative justice, and take a dignified approach to reparations.

We Welcome and Affirm the LGBT+ Community

At our church, we believe that all humans are created in God's image, regardless of gender, gender identity, and sexuality.

We welcome members of the LGBT+ community to fully participate in all aspects of our church, including serving on our staff, in youth-facing and pastoral roles, and on our executive leadership team.

We recognize that the broader Christian community has often marginalized, oppressed, and hurt the LGBT+ community.

We also acknowledge that traditional and conservative views on marriage, gender, and sexuality built on misinterpretations of the Bible and are not in line with the loving and inclusive teachings of Jesus.

Therefore, we seek to break this pattern by creating a space where all people are welcomed, loved, and valued, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity - where everyone is accepted, affirmed, and celebrated for who they are, as they were made by God.

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition…rather, in humility value others above yourselves not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of others.”

- Philippians 2: 2-4
